About Us
Delta County Credit Union was organized in 1960. We started out as Delta Catholic Credit Union and the office was located in downtown Escanaba. After the first year of business, we had $1,330.00 in assets. Today, we have grown to over $58 million in assets. Richard Meissner was the first General Manager of the credit union; a job he accepted in 1962, retiring in 1987. Richard was a pioneer in the financial services industry and was elected to the Michigan Credit Union League Hall of Fame in 1989.Brenda Lippens is the current General Manager of the credit union. She was hired in 2003 and has brought with her over 17 years of various banking experience.
In 1979 a new building was completed which is now the main office. Since 1979 we have made several improvements to the building. A new drive-up was constructed in 1997. With membership growing and financial services being added, it was decided to build a branch office in the Wells area. The new branch was built in 1999 and opened for business in February of 2000. Vikki Schultz is the manager of our branch office, which has the facilities to handle our growing membership and service their financial needs.
Delta County Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative, whose purpose is to promote the financial well-being of its members by providing comprehensive and progressive financial services at a competitive price.
