Delta County Credit Union is committed to promoting financial literacy through programs designed especially for youth. Our student-run branch program is one way we do exactly that. The Student Branch program is a free program available to any school in Delta County. Members of Team DCCU will help students operate their own school credit union branches. This program will provide many benefits to students including:
- providing financial education
- promoting personal financial responsibility
- develop communication skills
- provide hands-on learning of the financial industry
- cultivate career awareness and employability skills
In 2007 we launched our first student-run branch at Holy Name School. Since then we have introduced student-run branches into three other schools including Bark River-Harris Schools, James T. Jones Elementary Schools, and the Escanaba Learning Center! During the 2017-2018 school year, over 3o student volunteers processed over 2000 transactions to help their fellow students save $28,338.41! The Student Branch Program can operate in any school at no cost to the district!
